Referred to as PK 23/52 in Pakistan’s survey archives, locals fittingly bestowed upon it the name ‘Falchan Brak,’ meaning Broad Peak, owing to its expansive summit. This awe-inspiring pinnacle has repelled numerous expeditionary endeavors from around the world. Nevertheless, its conquest was finally realized on June 9, 1957, courtesy of the Austrian Karakoram Expedition, marking a historic moment in mountaineering lore.
Day 01Arrival in IslamabadUpon arrival at the airport, guests will be transferred to their hotel. They will spend the night in Islamabad.
Day 02Travel from Islamabad to Skardu (By Air)Guests will catch an early morning flight to Skardu, subject to weather conditions. If flying is not possible, an alternate plan will be made to depart for Skardu by road, with an overnight stay in Chilas. Overnight accommodation will be provided in a hotel in Chilas.
Day 03Chilas to SkarduIf a flight is available, guests will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Skardu; otherwise, they will travel overland from Chilas to Skardu. The total drive time from Islamabad to Skardu is 22 to 24 hours. Guests will spend the night in a hotel in Skardu.
Day 04Preparation Day in SkarduThis day is dedicated to finalizing expedition arrangements. Guests will spend the night in a hotel in Skardu.
Day 05Skardu to AskoleAfter breakfast, guests will embark on jeeps for a full-day ride on a winding jeep trail to Askole – the last inhabited area before the Great Glaciers. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 06Askole to JulaToday, guests will leave the last inhabited village of Askole. For the rest of the journey, they will rely on the local team to carry food and equipment. They will trek to the Dumurdo river crossing at Jula. Previously, this crossing was facilitated by a wire rope bridge supported by a wooden basket (Jula); nowadays, a wooden bridge has been built. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 07Jhula to PaijuGuests will resume trekking along the Braldu River to a green oasis under the shadows of Paiju Peak (6611 meters). Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 08Rest Day at PaijuToday is dedicated to rest and acclimatization at Paiju. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 09Paiju to UrdukasAfter an early breakfast, guests will begin the trek to Urdukas. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 10Urdukas to Goro IIGuests will embark on a long trek on the icy Baltoro Glacier after an early breakfast. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 11Goro II to ShaghringAfter an early breakfast, guests will trek to Shaghring. Accommodation will be in tents.
Day 12Shaghring to Gasherbrum Base CampAfter an early breakfast, guests will trek to Gasherbrum Base Camp. Accommodation will be in tents.
Days 13 to 39: Climbing ActivitiesAcclimatization and Summit ScalingWe have allocated 26 days for acclimatization and summit scaling activities. (Tent)
Day 40Gasherbrum Base Camp to Ali CampAfter an early breakfast, we will depart for Ali Camp. (Tent)
Day 41Ali Camp – Cross Gondogoro Pass – KhuspangWe will start early, as early as 2 or 3 a.m., to cross the Gondogoro Pass and reach Khuspang. (Tent)
Day 42Khuspang to ShaichoAfter a few minutes of easy walking, we will reach the glacier. We will navigate across moving boulders and ice, finally reaching the camping site at Shaicho. Walking duration: 6 – 7 hours, Grade: Easy. (Tent)
Day 43Shaicho to HusheAfter breakfast, we will continue our journey along the Hushe River on an easy path. Upon arrival in Hushe, we will camp near the fields in Hushe village. (Tent)
Day 44Hushe to SkarduAfter breakfast, we will embark on a full-day jeep ride on a winding road to Skardu. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight stay in a hotel in Skardu.
Day 45Skardu to ChilasAn early morning drive to Chilas. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight stay in a hotel in Chilas.
Day 46Chilas to IslamabadAfter breakfast, we will depart for Islamabad via the Babusar Pass. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Islamabad.
Day 47Exploring IslamabadWe will have a debriefing session at the Alpine Club in Islamabad. In the afternoon, we will go for a city tour of Islamabad. Overnight stay in a hotel in Islamabad.
Day 48Flight Back HomeTransfer to the airport for your flight back home.
Kindly be aware that flights to Gilgit Baltistan may be affected by weather conditions and potential backlog. Should a flight cancellation occur, we will proceed with travel by road instead. In such an event, one night’s stay in Islamabad will be incorporated into the overland journey.

4 x 4 Jeeps:
- Jeeps provided for transportation between Skardu, Askoli, Hushe, and back to Skardu.
Trekking and Base Camp Food:
- Food provided during the stay at the base camp, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Porters:
- Porters will carry members’ climbing gear, foodstuff, camping crew, etc., up to the base camp and return to the Jeep Roadhead. Insurance provided for all porters.
